The Night of San Lorenzo
This August, join us for the Night of San Lorenzo, an evening inspired by one of Italy's most cherished summer traditions.
Celebrated each year on 10 August, the Night of San Lorenzo honours San Lorenzo, patron saint of cooks and winemakers. Traditionally, families and friends gather outdoors to share food, wine and conversation beneath the stars. The feast coincides with the Perseid meteor shower, poetically known as the "tears of San Lorenzo", with wishes made upon the shooting stars that cross the night sky.
We invite you to join us as we bring our own interpretation of this beautiful tradition to Grove. Guests will gather around communal tables in our courtyard for a convivial four-course dinner, accompanied by paired wines and the stories behind them, hosted by our Head Sommelier, Cathryn Bell.
If the skies are clear, we'll venture up to higher ground as darkness falls to look towards the heavens for a glimpse of the Perseids, one of nature's most spectacular displays, and perhaps make a wish or two of our own.
Warm, atmospheric and designed for sharing, the Night of San Lorenzo promises an unforgettable summer evening of food, wine and conversation beneath the stars.
Arrival 7:00pm and seating will be on communal tables.
Please note that due to the nature of the event, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate dietary requirements or allergies.
We recommend dressing appropriately for the weather and bringing an extra layer for later in the evening. Should conditions not be suitable, the event will instead take place indoors.
